One Corner at a Time

We are here to assist homeless individuals with essential necessities while living on the streets. Our group prepares these packages to show our support and love that we have for our community and everyone who lives in it, even if you are just passing through.
One Corner at a Time was created by Tara and Jennifer in the summer of 2013 when they both found the passion to help homeless individuals. Homelessness is a prevalent problem in the Pensacola area. In 2009, the EscaRosa Coalition for the Homeless reported 713 homeless people in Escambia County and 237 Homeless people in Santa Rosa County.  Since the big flood in April of 2014 those numbers have severely increased.
Key Information
Tara and Jenifer have been helping in many communities for many years, but together for two years.  Because it does cost money to create the packages they depend on donations whether it is money or used clothing, time, prayers and word of mouth.
Both Tara and Jennifer market OCAAT and recruit members to get the word out and the importance of the project. They can not do it alone and depend on their community to raise awareness.
Both push for employment and the hiring process for odd jobs such as mowing lawns and painting homes. It is important to know who you are hiring, resumes are being made and laminated to hand out to the homeless individuals so passer by's can see their qualifications. The idea behind creating the resume is to let everyone know that they too deserve work and are not on the streets to make an easy buck.
Both Tara and Jennifer want to see this project go viral and see its efforts carried out in every state.
